About
IM3R - The Why
There are plenty of asset integrity and process safety concerns to keep us awake at night. The discovery of significant damage or deterioration in a precious asset is bad news. The decision on whether continued safe operation is possible and, if so, for how long is not easy. The consequences of getting a Run, Repair or Replace decision wrong can be dire. A release of the contents can result in a fire or explosion.
- People might be hurt or, worse, killed
- The environment might be damaged
- Significant production impact and downtime could result
- Reputation could be damaged
- Regulatory fall out could result in withdrawal of the privilege to operate
- Assurance of inspection and corrosion program effectiveness
- Identification of program efficiency and cost opportunities
- Actionable improvement recommendations aligned with available resources
- Increased understanding of integrity and process safety risks and mitigation
- Improved plant reliability and availability
- Wider understanding of the need and value of integrity management activities
